SERVICES

PRESS RELEASE TRANSLATION

Translation and adaptation of press releases into Russian and English for Estonian PR agencies and corporate communications. No literal calques, no stock phrases, no loss of voice.

For 19 years we’ve been translating press releases for Hamburg & Partnerid, Agenda PR, Corpore, Versa Communications, and direct clients — Citadele, Inbank, Bonava. A 14:00 deadline and an embargo are familiar territory.

MARKETING TRANSLATION
AND TRANSCREATION

Marketing translation and transcreation for Estonian brands reaching Russian- and English-speaking audiences. Adaptation, not calque. Meaning carried across, not words swapped one-for-one.

Nearly two decades with PR agencies and direct clients have taught us this: marketing copy only works when the translation keeps the spirit of the original, not the letter.

FINANCIAL AND
CORPORATE TRANSLATION

Translation of annual reports, corporate communications and banking materials for Estonian financial institutions and fintechs.

We work with Citadele, Inbank and others. We know the difference between MRR and ARR, between EBITDA and EBIT — and why it matters.

MUSEUM AND
CULTURAL TRANSLATION

Texts for museums, exhibitions, cultural centres and festivals. Labels, brochures, catalogues, audio-guide scripts — everything that walks alongside the visitor and explains what they’re looking at.

We work with the Estonian Open Air Museum and translate for art exhibitions, museum curators and others. A visitor spends 8 seconds reading an exhibit label — which is why it has to be clear and tight.

QUALITY POLICY

A quality standard should be real, not just on paper.

We’ve been doing this for 19 years. When the workload calls for it, we bring in additional translators — always with full transparency to the client. Over the years we’ve worked out a handful of principles that we hold to without exception.

ABOUT TRANSLATION

Volume is measured in standard translator’s pages. One such page equals 1,800 characters with spaces. You can see your character count, for example, in Microsoft Word.

The price depends on the page count of the finished translation (not the source), so an exact price up front usually isn’t possible. A finished translation can run 15–20% longer or shorter than the original.

Rush work is anything that needs to be ready «as soon as possible», «in a couple of hours», and the like. It’s also rush work if a long text needs to be translated quickly and the translator has to handle more than 3–3.5 pages a day or work over the weekend.

We use modern AI tools in our workflow — for building glossaries, keeping terminology consistent, and running final checks on punctuation and spelling. But the final product — is always human, with full accountability and full control over confidentiality.

We take orders every business day from 9:30 to 17:00.

ABOUT US

Anton and Lena, founders of Kether Translations

We’re Anton and Lena. We started our family business in 2007. Since then we’ve become a trusted partner for translation bureaus, advertising and PR agencies, publishers, law firms and many other well-known companies in Estonia and the neighbouring countries.
We translate ourselves, and we coordinate the work of a number of well-known Estonian freelance translators.

We value simple, informal relationships with clients and colleagues. We don’t go in for grand phrases or hollow superlatives. You won’t hear us say that «every one of our staff is passionate about translation», or that «we’d happily lose sleep searching for the perfect rendering of a difficult term», or any of the other tired marketing clichés. Of course, we love what we do — but work-life balance matters to us too.

We just do our work. Properly, and quickly. Our clients usually end up becoming our friends — that’s the part that matters most to us. We’d love to make friends with you, too!
